Introduction

In the Federal Republic of German (for example), around 340,000 people become ill with cancer each year, and around 250,000 patients die of this disease each year. Modern cancer research invests a large amount of time and money in investigating the origin and course of the disease – but traditional medical therapies have so far been unable to effectively halt the spread of the disease in the population.
Traditional cancer treatment methods (operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy) make huge encroachments into the sick body, with the aim of destroying the tumor.
